Toyota Prius Vehicles have gone through a strong increase in their selling price recently. There has been a considerable inflation in the selling prices for this model.
The retail prices for Toyota Prius cars have gone through a strong rise during the last 6 months. During the first month analyzed in June the average price was ₦ 1,211,538. July went through a strong inflation with a rise in the price till ₦ 1,463,696. During the following two months (August, September) the average selling price rose somewhat going from ₦ 1,337,617 to ₦ 1,512,625. The average price has risen 5 % during the last two months. This result was obtained based on the price for the first four months (PRECIO1!) and the price (₦ 1,501,813) during October and November.
The average price for Toyota Prius has had a strong rise in recent years. Between 2001 and 2006, the average price is ₦ 1,138,333.38. There was a significant inflation of the average price in 2001 (₦ 800,000) moving up till (₦ 1,587,500)in 2006. During the next two years (2007, 2008) the price for the aforementioned model has gone up strongly a 35 %. During the last two years, prices in the car industry have gone through a strong rise of 21 % compared to the average values for the previous 4 years. This was taken from studying the prices for the the preceding four years in previous sample (₦ 1,942,379.5) and the the last two years that have been analyzed (2009, 2010) with a price of ₦ 2,353,571.5.
The graph that displays the price for Toyota Prius cars according to their mileage shows that those cars within a mileage range of "more than 200,000" are the ones with the lowest price. They are 15 % more affordable than the average price (₦ 1,538,975). Next with a price of ₦ 1,499,313 and a mileage range of "100,000 - 200,000" we would see the following vehicles. The mileage range for the most expensive cars is "50,000 - 100,000". It is 23% more costly than the average market value followed by those vehicles with a mileage of "25,000 - 50,000" and a price of ₦ 1,566,667.
